Grant Walker

Grant began throwing pots in Sydney as an escape from the daily office routine. Several shows with Greg Hyde, a well known Sydney artist, followed.

When the family moved to London in 1985 the threat of hands frozen solid in water marked the end of the throwing. Acclimatization took 14 years and then Grant cautiously revisited ceramics via Chipstead Craft Studios with Tessa Oates. Surprised that his hands still worked despite the temperature, he resumed throwing and took on a City & Guilds Diploma with Brigitt Head.

He works from a damp garage, great for the pots which can dry slowly but tough on the potter, and accepts commissions.
